The PES League's World Finals took place last week at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium in London, where 16 of the best Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 players fought off for the chance to lift the trophy and claim $200,000 USD, but it was to be the 17-year-old Brazilian Guifera who was to take home the massive prize.

Guifera took down fellow South American Jhona_KRA with back to back 4-1 victories in the semi finals, whereas his opponent in the grand final, Ettorito (who won the Anfield event in April), defeated his opponent Oneill 5-2 and 5-1 in the semis. Oneill and Jhona_KRA both faced off against each other in the third place playoff, then, with Jhona_KRA rattling the woodwork multiple times at 1-1, but it all eventually paid off when he got a late winner to secure third place and $50,000 USD.

Guifera and Ettorito both had very impressive attacking records going into the final, then, beating opponents by large margins throughout the competition, but the final was a slightly more cagey affair. Both showed signs of nerves, and neither played the fearless, aggressive styles they're known for, but Ettorito scored first to put Guifera on the back foot. Guifera equalised before full time, however, pushing the match into extra time. Late drama saw him then move into the lead with minutes to go in extra time, then, and he saw out the victory at 2-1, showing obvious emotions as he burst into tears at the final whistle.

At 17, do you think Guifera can continue to be the best at PES for a long time?
