Activision have announced that more than 18 million map packs have been sold for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Activision's Eric Hirschberg also announced that the average player has spent 76 dollars on the game, compared to the recommended retail price of 60 dollars.
With the success of the map packs Call of Duty: Black Ops easily beats Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that sold 9 and 11 million map packs in their first nine months respectively.
"There are over 30 million unique players of Black Ops who collectively have amassed, incredibly, more than 2.3 billion hours of play. To put that number in perspective, that's more than a quarter of a million years of play and that means our millions of fans spend more time per day on Black Ops multiplayer than they do on Facebook," says Hirshberg.
