The picture below, which was shared on the official Bravely Default Twitter, confirms that the series which has given us two of the most well-received RPGs on Nintendo 3DS is gearing up for something new.
A rough translation indicates the team wishes fans good luck for the new year, at the same time teasing the so far mysterious new project. There's no mention on platforms or even genre, but a safe bet would be a third entry (or an HD compilation of the first couple of games) for the Nintendo Switch.
Both Bravely Default and Bravely Second released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS as pretty successful AA RPGs for Square Enix, and the same success was met more recently by Octopath Traveler on the Nintendo Switch, which has some team members in common. And while the publisher released the Bravely Default: Fairy's Effect spin-off on mobile, the hybrid system seems like the best positioned for the yet-to-be-detailed new game.
But what if it released on all three consoles including PS4 and Xbox One? And what would you rather have first, an HD compilation of Default + Second or a potential Bravely Third? Leave a comment below the greetings artwork.
