One of the best surprises Electronic Arts revealed during their EA Play conference earlier this year was Hazelight's co-op focused A Way Out. The reveal trailer showed off how two players will have to cooperate to escape prison and then survive outside the walls, mostly consisting of some fairly intense and dramatic scenes, but now we know that there's also time for a few relaxing and fun sequences as well.
That's at least what last night's new trailer shows. In it, we don't just see Leo and Vincent fighting the law, but also having a few more calm moments in-between. More importantly, we now know that the rumours about a delay were false, as A Way Out will launch on March 23.
The games director, Josef Fares also confirmed what he's been eluding to earlier, that you just have to buy one copy of the game to play with a friend. That's right. The one that buys the game can invite the other to join either on the couch or online without the other even owning the game. Some really good and surprising news, especially considering how much hate EA has received over the last few weeks.
Also, as reported by PCGamesN, Fares had some choice words at the awards, saying that "the Oscars can f*** themselves up, this is the s***."
"It doesn't have anything [to do] with the EA s*** going on, with the loot box and stuff," he continued, adding that "all publishers f*** up sometimes."
Are you looking forward to finding A Way Out for yourself?
