As many speculated, the debut title from Hazelight, the minds behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, made its appearance during EA's E3 showcase, EA Play.
A Way Out is a story driven co-op game, centred on two characters escaping from captivity, and it features a new approach to multiplayer storytelling. Writer and Director Josef Varez, said:
"We wanted to create a game where the characters had unique personalities and goals, a game where me and a friend can embark on an emotional journey together and that is exactly this game."
A Way Out sets out to differentiate itself from other co-op games by offering a unique experience for both players involved, with a cinematic offering that can also be played by partners in crime sitting on the same couch.
One example of how this might work was revealed within the launch trailer, where one player might be in a cutscene, whilst the other is engaging in gameplay.
A Way Out is set to release in early 2018, and you can watch the two new trailers that were shown during the conference below.
