Activision made a ton of money from in-game revenue such as microtransactions or DLC in during their last quarter (Q1). In fact, it amounted to more than $1 billion, as confirmed by an investor call which can be read on Seeking Alpha.

Collister Johnson from Activision Blizzard said: "Turning last to our third strategic pillar, player investment, in-game content features and services continue to both engage our fans and contribute significantly to our results, delivering a Q1 record of $1 billion of in-game net bookings." It seems, Activision owned publishing house King is doing very well too, having had "its highest net bookings quarter ever".

And it seems to be going very well in general over at Activision. CEO Bobby Kotick revealed "another record quarter for Activision Blizzard, with GAAP revenues of $1.97 billion, driven by record quarterly digital, in-game, and mobile net bookings." Activision had generated a "record Q1 operating cash flow of $529 million, up nearly 30% year over year". Strong numbers across the board in other words, even with no actual new products launching during the period.
