Season 8 of the Smite Pro League is kicking off tomorrow, April 23, with the first match set to take place at 6pm BST / 7pm CEST (you can catch all the action over here). But, as a final announcement before the season begins, it has been revealed by Hi-Rez Studios that Alienware will be serving as the title sponsor for the upcoming season of the competitive league.

The deal is set to see the broadcast studio and the player houses equipped with the top-of-the-line Aurora Ryzen Edition PCs, where every single player and coach in the League will be provided with one of the desktops to be able to compete on. The exact specs of the provided PCs can be found below, and they really are quite impressive.

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 Desktop:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 3950X Processor (16-core, 64 MB total cache, max boost clock of 4.7GHz)

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card

  • 64 GB RAM

  • 512GB SSD hard drive

  • Micro ATX motherboard with AMD AM4 B550A chipset

The players and coaches will also be receiving a 24" 1080p, 240Hz Alienware 25 gaming monitor that comes with a 1ms response time, as well as some Alienware peripherals to round out the setups.

The financials of the deal are yet to be revealed.

"Despite the cool Gods at war theme, balancing issues and clumsy matchmaking present too much of a hindrance for us to truly enjoy this MOBA title."
