Techland and Piccolo Studio have released the third and final part of their developer diary series detailing the creation, story, and development of the recently-released emotional puzzle platformer called Arise: A Simple Story.

In the series, game directors Alexis Corominas and Jordi Ministral give as a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of their ambitious debut title, including the heartfelt tale of how they crafted the narrative and managed to switch to their dream careers, which is far from a simple story.

The videos also dive into more technical and creatively challenging aspects in other areas, like the stirring soundtrack composed by BAFTA award-winning composer David Garcia, who also wrote the scores for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and Rime.

They also discuss how they were inspired by Studio Ghibli and the work put into making the narrative of the title, which is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

For more on the game be sure to check out our review. Will you be picking up some tissues for when you play?
