BadLand Games and Thomas Happ Games have announced Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition will be released on the Nintendo Switch alongside the PlayStation 4, PS Vita and Wii U versions of the game.
The special edition of the metroidvania title will contain a special 2 Player Productions documentary about the making of Axiom Verge, a deluxe booklet with developer commentary and art, and a double-sided poster. There's a CD soundtrack for players who pre-order, but only on Nintendo Switch does this CD count as part of the Multiverse Edition.
Developer Thomas Happ says: "People often asked me about the early days of Axiom Verge - about how I was able to make a game completely on my own over the course of five years of evenings and weekends while holding down a full-time job. The long-form documentary format really made it possible for me to take the time and explain that process as well as go into some detail about the difficulties of balancing work and family responsibilities."
Axiom Verge: Multiverse Edition will be released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U and Nintendo Switch in August 2017 and will cost €39.99 (Switch) and €29.99/£24.99 (PS4, Vita, Wii U).
