Back in 2016 Gearbox and 2K Games released Battleborn, launching around the same time as Overwatch but not getting nearly the same attention and player response as Blizzard's hero shooter, and now it's going away for good.
The 2K support page has revealed that Battleborn has been removed from digital storefronts, and that they're in the process of "gradually sunsetting the game to focus our efforts and resources on other projects".
In practice, this means that you won't be able to buy the game from now on, and from February 24 you'll no longer be able to get premium virtual currency either. Servers will remain active until January 2021 though, which is when it will be down for good.
You can still spend currency in your account until the servers shut, even after the February cutoff date, and 2K clarifies that no features will be cut between now and January 2021. Considering it's an online game though, Battleborn won't be playable in any way when servers are down.
