Following a couple of years of solely online play after the pandemic, Epic Games hosted the first in-person LAN competitive Fortnite event in years over the past weekend, and now that the tournament is over, we have a victor to report on.
It's the Become Legends duo of Iwo "Setty" Zając and Michał "Kami" Kamiński who have gone the distance and won the Fortnite Championship Series 2022 Invitational. The team scored the most points over the two days of competition, netting 368 in total, which put them ahead of the second placing duo of Harry "veno" Pearson and Aleksa "Queasy" Cvetkovic, who achieved a total of 348.
This result is seeing the Become Legends duo heading home with not just the world title and trophy, but also $200,000 in prize money to be split between the pair, which amounted to a fifth of the full prize pool.
Now that this tournament is over, all eyes are on Epic and what their plan is for the 2023 season.
