It had been rumoured for a few days, but now Polygon has reported that Bethesda has filed a lawsuit against developer Behaviour Interactive for reusing a copyrighted code of Fallout Shelter for their own recently-released mobile game based on the TV series Westworld.
To complicate matters, Behaviour Interactive was the original developer of Fallout Shelter, and Bethesda thinks that their new game Westworld "appears to be a little too close for comfort to the hit Fallout spin-off."
And how does Bethesda know that Westworld uses the same code as Fallout Shelter? Westworld's demo version has those same bugs that were present in early versions of Fallout Shelter. Bethesda also "took issue with a number of similarities in the two games, from how characters are animated to the location and appearance of certain user interface elements to how a tutorial for zooming the game's camera works."
At the moment both Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Behaviour Interactive have yet to comment on the issue. Have you noticed similarities between the two games?
