It seems we will return to the wasteland sooner rather than later as Bethesda Game Studios has teased a Fallout-related announcement ahead of E3 on their Twitter feed.
Of course, the fact that Bethesda Game Studios, not Bethesda Softworks (the publisher) is doing the teasing would seem to indicate, it's a game developed at the main studios behind the likes of Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 (as well as the main Elder Scrolls titles). It does include the Montreal and Austin (formerly BattleCry) studios though, and not just the main one in Rockville. Could it be a remastered version of Fallout 3? A spin-off similar to New Vegas? The long-rumoured Fallout Online? Or has the time come for Fallout 5?
We'll know soon enough and the full reveal is likely due at Bethesda E3 showcase on Sunday, June 10 6:30 PM (local time), Monday, June 11 2:30 AM BST.
The teaser itself is the same as used ahead of similar Fallout announcement with the test screen and the #Pleasestandby hashtag.
We're standing by for the announcement, are you?
