BioWare's latest game, Mass Effect Andromeda, will be coming our way next year, but we have learned that the developer has been planning a new IP in the shadows. In an interview with GameInformer, BioWare's manager Aaryn Flynn has spilled a precious few details on what the game will be like - but we shouldn't expect an official announcement any time soon.

"We're not going to talk about it until we're confident about what it's going to be and everything," Flynn told GameInformer. "We've been doing reviews with [EA's CEO], and I think he likes it. So, knock on wood, we'll keep working on it and we'll keep doing it. Hopefully you'll hear more about that once Andromeda's done and we've satisfied fans with that game."

So everything is still very secretive right now, and in these early stages, nothing is set in stone, but we do know that the game is further along than expected. Flynn said that the game was actually in a playable state all the way back in 2013. One thing we do know about the game is that it will be very much story-driven, and that it is being developed by the same team that made Knights of the Old Republic.

"What we said was that we're BioWare, so we have a certain kind of game that we love making and we know our fans would love," Flynn said. "...we started with that and that's a game that has as its heart stories and storytelling. So we decided we're going to stick with that. We're not just going to walk away from that."

It's interesting to know that BioWare has had something in the works for this long, and we're excited for the eventual announcement if it's by the same team that created Knights of the Old Republic, arguably one of the best story-driven games of all time. What would you like to see Bioware do?

"There's enough of the series' DNA in there that fans will find this a worthwhile adventure."
