Bookbound Brigade assembles literary and historical figures

Digital Tales and Intragames Co. Ltd have revealed a brand new Metroidvania game called Bookbound Brigade, hitting PC, PS4, and Switch later this year, and playable at Gamescom in Cologne next month as well.

This is all about "beating the hell out of historical and literary characters" through a 2D platformer, combining real and fictional characters as you meet Dracula, Queen Victoria, Nikola Tesla, Robin Hood, and more. This is all in search of a Book of Books, which has been stolen, plunging the world into chaos.

You play as an entire party of heroes as a result, and you'll have to solve puzzles and fight bad guys to succeed. Each has their own traits and skills which you must utilise, and the visual style is inspired by book illustrations across history.
