Street Fighter V and - more recently - the Arcade Edition, are two very popular titles in the esports space, sitting up there with the likes of Tekken 7 as the height of competitive fighting games, but what does the future hold for the franchise? This is something the series' executive producer Yoshinori Ono talked about on Twitter.

Ono tells us that the development team has been working on exciting new things for the game, and that there's something coming in August, although we don't have any other details. He does add that he's looking forward to Combo Breaker 2019 this weekend though, one of the many events featuring a Street Fighter V competition.

The game isn't getting regular updates these days, aside from the extra costumes we got to end 2018, so it'll be interesting to see what'll happen in August.
