We all know that microtransactions are a big business, especially in free-to-play games, one of which is Epic Games' Fortnite, which allows you to buy emotes, skins, gliders, and more for an added cost.

Although none of this gives an in-game advantage, they're still hugely popular, and as reported by SegmentNext, a British dad Steve Harrison has found out that this cost can add up. As the report goes, he allowed his 12-year-old son to use his credit card to make a purchase in Fortnite, and this one purchase later became 81 purchases costing $918 USD in total, with all of these transactions made within 72 hours.

Harrison wants to warn parents to keep an eye on their kids, especially when it comes to monetary purchases in games. It's worth adding here that Fortnite itself doesn't require a credit card since it's free, but the purchases within the game do, and you don't necessarily need permission every single time once the card is loaded onto the PS4.
