One of the most interesting gameplay mechanics in the original Life is Strange was Max's power to rewind time, an aspect that allowed her to change the outcome of some important events in the story. As for its prequel, Life is Strange: Before the Storm - the first episode of which is expected next week - obviously that power couldn't be featured, because Max wasn't part of the story, but according to Zak Gariss, there will be another interesting skill that can be used by Chloe in the game. This skill is called "backtalk", and he explained a bit more about it when speaking with IGN:
"The idea here is to give players the chance to step into [Chloe's] shoes when she's at her most witty, and at times maybe most brutal," he explained. "[Backtalk allows Chloe] to push anybody's buttons through a special dialogue mini-game to elicit the kind of behaviour she wants from someone."
"Even though Chloe doesn't have a supernatural power, the ways in which we are exploring what her life is right now definitely includes really strange and supernatural elements."
The first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm will be available on August 31 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. What do you make of this skill?
