We're now heading into the final week of qualifiers for the Countdown Cup, meaning we're very nearly done with the 2022 regular season for the Overwatch League. With the tournament coming up soon, we already have confirmation as to what franchise has claimed the number one seed in the West division, and according to head of the OWL, Sean Miller, that is the Dallas Fuel.

Replying to a question from Misfits brand manager and Overwatch content creator, Avast, Miller said, "Hello Mr. Avast, thank you reaching out to the Overwatch League. Dallas Fuel is locked for first seed. The San Francisco Shock cannot take it as match win % is the deciding factor if they win both their next games, and Dallas will be higher regardless."

To those who are confused how this has been worked out considering the San Francisco Shock still has games to play later this week, Miller also stated that "Tournament matches count" toward the seeding.

Either way, there's a very real chance both the Shock and the Fuel clash in the Playoffs, as both teams, alongside the Atlanta Reign, Houston Outlaws, and Los Angeles Gladiators, have all qualified for the postseason already.
