Motion Twin's acclaimed rogue-lite Dead Cells has been getting new content ever since its release in 2018, and now we have an announcement showing the first details of The Bad Seed DLC, bringing two new early game biomes and another challenging boss to fight, which you can see a teaser of below:
That's about all we know right now, as the team is keeping tight-lipped on the content included. That said, we still have some screenshots and a trailer to enjoy, as well as a provisional release window of Q1 2020.
The Bad Seed will cost $4.99 USD (or "comparable regional prices") and "paid content will help support the development of the game, allowing the team to go forward with all of the ideas that we've got in our heads, continuing to produce free content, fixes and updates, while also ensuring that Motion Twin have the time to build their next game at the level you've come to expect from them."
We also get details of a roadmap for the future too, including free updates ranging from content additions to smaller changes, for the "next two years at least," which is promising for fans.
Balancing and the economy are two things that the team want to address in the future, as well as putting new creatures in with BC1+ difficulties to keep things fresh. On top of this we can also expect secret areas, new weapons, lore, and more.
To celebrate the festive period the team is also preparing a "little present" for players, but we're not told what that is just yet.
Have you tried Dead Cells yet?
