Dead Island publisher Deep Silver has today announced that the first two Dead Island games will be remastered and released on current-gen consoles and PC in one bundle under the title Dead Island: Definitive Collection.

The bundle includes Dead Island and its follow-up, Dead Island: Riptide, and a new 16-bit runner entitled Dead Island: Retro Revenge.

The game boasts overhauled visuals, and utilises Techland's current-gen engine, promising to provide significant visual and performance upgrades, and introducing 'cutting edge current-generation graphical effects.'

Some of the new graphical features include higher quality textures, a new photo-realistic lighting system, and better shading techniques. The new games will also make use of the latest console features such as online 4-player co-op, PS Vita Remote-Play and PS4 Share-play, along with streaming and recording capabilities. A fan-favourite PC mod will also be included in the game, named Power Fists Power-up.

The Dead Island Definitive Collection will be available for €39.99/£29.99, and you can also buy the remastered versions of each individual game for €19.99/£14.99 each. The games are set to release on May 31 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

"Later escort missions are troublesome, as it feels as though Techland has equipped the NPCs with the same artificial intelligence as the zombies by mistake."
