Dead Space 2 soon in production
Job listings reveal it all

Joystiq reports that according to a job listing at Linked In Dead Space 2 is closing in on the end of pre-production and will enter full production within the next couple of months. According to the ad the core team behind the original are working on, although it is known that Visceral Games have suffered a few high profile defections after the original was completed.
No big surprise that Dead Space 2 will enter production just as Dante's Inferno is coming to completion and Dead Space: Extraction just shipped to stores.
