Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D out May 24

Nintendo has confirmed the release date of its 3DS version of Donkey Kong Country Returns for both retailers and eShop as May 24.

The announcement came during the latest Nintendo Direct, were the company also revealed the game will carry a "New Mode", with a readjusted difficulty setting to make it easier, which includes extra health and abilities, such as a Green Balloon that'll return you to the level unhurt if you fall, or a Crash Guard to protect you from two mistakes while in the cart sections.

There'll also be a new eight-level world in the game, unlockable after the main campaign is completed, and there'll also be a local co-op mode available through wi-fi.
