One week ago, Square Enix confirmed a western release for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age right as the game was released in Japan on Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4. Good news for fans of the series and hopefully we're not made to wait that long (for now there's only a 2018 release window announced).
The franchise has a tremendous following in Japan, and we expected sales to be massive. Now, the famous gaming magazine Famitsu has revealed (as translated by Kotaku) that both versions combined sold over 2 million copies within the first two days. The Nintendo 3DS version held a slight lead by Famitsu's estimates and digital sales are not included in here...
Are you excited for the first new main series Dragon Quest game since Dragon Quest IX (2009/2010)?
