While Dota 2 takes the crown for the largest prize pools in the esports world, the nature of Counter-Strike and how there are tons of tournaments and events means that CS pros are some of the most awarded esports professionals.

To this end, Peter "Dupreeh" Rasmussen has now made history to become the first Counter-Strike Global Offensive professional to surpass $2 million in prize winnings. As of right now, Dupreeh is at $2,164,164.40 in winnings, as Esports Earnings reports, which puts him ahead of Danish colleague Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth.

While the CS:GO Major circuit is now over, there are still plenty of tournaments planned in the lead up to Counter-Strike 2's launch, meaning Dupreeh can continue to add to this tally over the coming months.
