EA has announced the expansion of its FIFA esports programme, a move that will grow the current three tournament system that sees players competing for themselves, teams/organisations, and their own nations.

The expanded system will see players from more than 70 eligible countries able to compete in either the FIFAe Club Series 2022, the FIFAe Nations Series 2022, or the FIFA 22 Global Series, which will lead to the FIFAe World Cup 2022.

The events will begin in November with qualifiers and will run all the way until the major season concluding events that are planned to take place in the Summer in 2022. EA has released a graphic that gives a rudimentary look at the schedule roadmap for the esports tournaments, which you can see below.

"Newcomers, as well as established superstars - individually or as a team - will inspire entire nations of EA SPORTS FIFA players and get the opportunity to fame their game," said Christian Volk, director of eFootball and gaming at FIFA. "A historic season full of thrilling competitive FIFA stories will captivate a global fanbase with this expanded ecosystem."

Registration for a few of the tournaments are set to open in early October, and if you fancy having a crack you can register here when it opens.
