Charity and MMOs are no strangers to each other. Blizzard Entertainment have supported various charities through sales in their pet store, and Sony Online Entertainment and CCP have both done similar things in the past. Now Aeria Games' Eden Eternal joins the club, by supporting an alpaca farm.

"The donation recipient, Sharon Hudson of Clements, Calif., adopted 50 alpacas earlier this year for what was supposed to be a two-month rescue effort," the press release detailing the charity says. "Two months became six months, and the herd still remains under her compassionate care. Unfortunately, Hudson can no longer afford to feed her beloved adoptees and is actively raising money to sustain them for another month while a new home is located. "

And since the alpaca is the official mascot of Eden Eternal, it all makes sense.

"Virtual pet food in Eden Eternal feeds the game's popular alpacas, which act as pets and transportation for players. For every $1 package of virtual pet food the game sells, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to feed Sheryl Hudson's real life alpacas."

This is an alpaca, living at the Alpaca Centre in the UK. Not related to the charity, but still - aaaaaw.
