Eleague has revealed the names of the first six teams that will compete in the $1.2 million Turner Sports-run Counter-Strike league from the end of may.

The list includes three teams from Europe and three from the United States, with Danish side Astralis being the clear front runner so far. From Europe, they're joined by Ninjas in Pyjamas and Mousesports, while current third-best NA team Counter Logic Gaming leads the local pack along with Renegades and Cloud 9.

A total of 18 teams will compete in the Eleague, 16 of which have signed on at this point. But one could wonder why the league would chose to lead their team announcements with a a group that only includes one real top performer, Astralis, and what that says about the remaining line-up.

The first season of Eleague will last from May 25 to July 30, and features a prize pool of $1.2 million - the largest in any Counter-Strike tournament ever.
