Esports company and event organiser ESL has announced that it will be bringing content from the CS:GO Pro League (kicking off Season 7 this year) and ESL One exclusively to Facebook in 2018, the former of which was announced alongside WESA, the World Esports Association.

The distribution of the Pro League will begin on February 13 and run for four seasons, until December 2019, and in regards to ESL One - featuring CS:GO and Dota 2 - this first event will be ESL One Genting 2018 between January 23 and 28, with 16 of the best Dota teams going head to head. On top of this, ESL will be producing a weekly five-minute show "celebrating the Dota community," as the press release explains, due to go out on Facebook's platform Facebook Watch.

The tournaments themselves will be streamed exclusively via Facebook live, with all broadcasts being available in 1080p and 60 FPS on Facebook. Both of the competitions will also be streamed in VR as well, with Facebook soon rolling out multiple options for viewing these in VR, such as Facebook 360 for Gear VR. What's more is that ESL will also be using cross-posting, meaning that they can post videos to engage with fans on all participating team and player pages.

"Building on our successful partnership, we believe Facebook is the perfect platform to bring both Pro League and ESL One competitions to new and existing audiences," said Nik Adams, Senior Vice President Global Media Rights & Distribution at ESL. "With Facebook broadening their portfolio of top-tier live sports events and leagues, we are excited to add this content to their lineup and guarantee the very best of viewing experiences to our passionate fans."
