The 2021 Call of Duty League season concluded back in August, seeing the Atlanta Faze wrap up a dominant year by taking home the CDL championship as well. While Activision has yet to announce the start date or the format for the upcoming 2022 season, it has been revealed that Call of Duty: Vanguard developer Sledgehammer Games, and Vanguard's Zombies developer Treyarch will be collaborating with the CDL to bring "a new level" of Ranked Play support to the shooter.

Revealed in a tweet by Treyarch, the pair will be working together on "Competitive modes, Ranked Skill Divisions, visible Skill Ratings & rewards", all of which will be coming to Call of Duty: Vanguard. There's no word exactly as to whether this will be a feature at the release of Vanguard, or whether it will come later down the line, but it was mentioned in a beta-to-launch thread that highlighted a few different changes made to the game since its recent betas, so the former seems like a safe bet. Either way it shows even more support for the CDL, as the league heads into its third season.

REVIEW. Written by Eirik Hyldbakk Furu

Sledgehammer Games' latest instalment into the long-running shooter series offers up some great improvements, but still feels a bit safe at its core.
