The victor of the inaugural Guild FIFA 22 Cup has been decided, after this past weekend saw the culmination of several weeks of competition. With the event presented by Subway, competitors were fighting for a share of the £1,800 prize pool as well as the unique Golden Sub trophy that the winner would walk away with.

The finals themselves took place at the Odeon Luxe West End in front of a live crowd, and after all had been said and done, it was Tom Sorrell who had taken the top prize after defeating Lewis Blampey in the grand finals.

"It's so great to be able to bring our first physical activation with Subway to life," said Michelle Tierney, chief commercial officer at Guild. After months of meticulous planning, we've put on the largest physical FIFA event of 2021, and there's so much more to come! We're also so excited that this tournament has provided opportunities to athletes for the future of FIFA Esports which is an ethos felt throughout Guild and with our Academy."

The finals were also opened with a special message coming from Guild Esports-backer David Beckham, and even featured a show match between FIFA content creator Pieface and influencer Harry Pinero.

Take a look at Sorrell and his Golden Sub trophy below.
