As we reported earlier this week, today marks the beginning of the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice 2022 playoffs. The final stages of the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament will see the best teams from around the world competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool. To make a run for the championship title, team's need to be at full strength, which is why the news of G2 Esports' head coach Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam receiving a positive Covid-19 test is such a big one.

As stated by G2, XTQZZZ will not be present for G2's match against Virtus.pro at 14:30 GMT / 15:30 CET today, due to the necessity of having to self-isolate. As for when XTQZZZ will be back and coaching G2 in-person, that has yet to be revealed.
