Riot Games has officially slapped a date on when the League of Legends Championship Series will return. The Summer Split will kick off on June 17, and will consist of a format that spans eight weeks of double-round robin matches, with five games played on Saturdays and Sundays.

In the announcement post we're also told that the first and eighth week of the Summer Split will be Super Weeks, and therefore should contain a massive wealth of games to look forward to.

Otherwise, at the end of the Summer Split, the top eight teams will advance to the Summer Playoffs, where they will be competing to be crowned the next LCS Champion, and also earn one of three slots at the 2022 World Championship.

With games set to take place in a few weeks, Riot has also added that the studio matches will feature a live audience, and that tickets to attend these matches are already on sale.
