Publisher Fatshark, best known for the Vermintide titles, and developer Blackfox Studios have announced a new game called Dreadlands, that's a follow-up of sorts to Fatshark's postapocalyptic RPG Krater from a few years back. It offers turn-based action in a shared world where other players can be both enemies and friends.

"With Dreadlands we want to take the online elements of an MMO or a shared world shooter and combine it with addictive turn-based gameplay," says Peter Nilsson, founder and creative director Blackfox Studios via press release.

A big part of the concept is how you build your gang, manage your base, and progress through experience and gear (including powerful artifacts).

"Peter's concept is unique, to have all players in a shared world running PvE challenges and PvP matches at their choosing. At Fatshark we are fans of turn-based games, and are super stoked to team up with Blackfox Studios on this title," says Martin Wahlund, CEO Fatshark.

No platforms have been announced for Dreadlands, but there is a Steam page that's live and points to a release in 2019 on PC. Whether additional platforms are planned is unknown.
