While OpTic Gaming has been the team to beat in the competitive Halo scene for a long while, the team ended up falling at the second to last hurdle at the Dallas Invitational over the weekend.
Following OpTic failing to make it into the grand finals of the event, both FaZe Clan and Spacestation Gaming ended up competing and fighting for the tournament, and the $45,000 prize that was on offer.
The final match of the tournament ended up being a very entertaining one, as while FaZe Clan did end up taking the first map in the series, Spacestation came back and won the next three maps, leaving them on championship point. FaZe Clan however, did manage to pull things together and ended up winning the final three maps to win the series 4-3 overall.
As for what's next for the HCS, teams will be returning and competing in the second split of the season, which will lead into the Fort Worth Major in September.
