Final Fantasy VII is finally getting remade, but now that the dust has settled after the initial revealed at Sony's press conference at E3, the questions slowly starts reach the surface. One of the more pressing of these questions is: what about the game's old school combat? How will that be remade?
Director Tetsuya Nomura has spoken to Official PlayStation Magazine (via GamesRadar) about the changes to the game's combat system, which might disappoint fans of the original Active Time Battle system:
"We're not going to be changing it into a shooter or something like that. We are going to be bringing dramatic changes, but we want to make sure it's still recognisable."
Nomura closed by mentioning the Final Fantasy VII feature film he directed back in 2005, as he considers the film's visuals a great inspiration for the upcoming graphical overhaul for the game.
