FIFA 13 has managed to outsell FIFA 12 by a staggering 23 per cent, it was revealed yesterday by EA in an investor's call.

The latest iteration of the popular football series has sold an impressive 12m units to date, and digital revenues for the series increased 98 per cent in the same period of time.

The increasing popularity of digital sales has meant a decline in retail sales, with revenue from the digital market rising from $274m to $321m over the last year (and retail dropping from $738m to $568m). CEO John Riccitiello said. "We are investing for the future wave of growth that we foresee in digital and console."
