A lot of Final Fantasy fans desperately awaiting the release of Final Fantasy XV were hoping for an announcement of the game's release date at yesterday's Active Time Report show from Gamescom, but sadly the launch window is still under wraps.
Game Director Hajime Tabata did confirm to Dualshockers however, that the game is "65% done", and that all of the remaining development time, marketing and whatnot has been finalised and scheduled by Square Enix.
Furthermore, Tabata said that "everything is proceeding very well" and that the game is "very much where it's supposed to be right now."
A new area was showcased by GamesHQMedia at the Active Time Report, and you can watch a demonstration, and a new boss fight, through this link.
Update
According to a report over on Gamespot, Tabata has confirmed that the game will at least launch next year: "it's not going to be 2017. It's going to be before that," he told the site, also suggesting that an announcement is on the way.
"I think we'll be able to tell you when we're making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month," the game director said.
