Esports organiser, PGL, has announced that it will host and hold open qualifiers for the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major, which is set to take place in March 2024. As noted in a new blog post, the open qualifiers will see teams from all over the world fighting for a slot in the main event, with the open portion of the tournament held in January 2024.
There will be open tournaments for most major regions, including Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, with each region further split into smaller regional events. You can find the schedule for each open qualifier here.
As for the actual CS2 Major, which will be held in Copenhagen, teams will want to qualify for it, as it will boast a $1.25 million prize pool, with $500,000 going to the winning team.
