This past weekend saw the conclusion of the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Winter Playoffs, a tournament spanning several regions and acting as one of the final forms of qualification for the ALGS Championship in a few months. In the EMEA region, Flavor of the Month, a smaller esports organisation, actually managed to take home the number one spot, alongside $48,000 in prize money and even a whole bunch of ALGS points to help them qualify for the Championship.
Across the six rounds of games that spanned the series, Flavor of the Month was the only team to secure two victories. By winning the fourth and sixth games of the series, the team managed to elevate themselves over well-regarded organisations, such as Na'Vi and Gambit Esports. Flavor of the Month did also manage to land a second place result during the second game, putting them at 80 points at the end of the playoffs, 14 points ahead of second place.
The ALGS Championship for the EMEA region is set to take place in early June, meaning we'll have to see how Flavor of the Month can transition this success into the most elite-tiered competition across the annual circuit.
