Flying Pikmin detailed in Pikmin 3

Iwata explained purple Pikmins during Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo detailed the new purple Pikmins during today's Nintendo Direct. The purple Pikmins were first briefly spotted during the E3 presentation last summer, but now it was revealed these purple critters will be able to fly. Something that is sure to mix up the puzzle solving in the upcoming game. Sadly, no firm release date for Pikmin 3 was communicating - hopefully that's not indicative of how long we're going to have to wait for it.
