In a rather unexpected change of events, Formula 1 has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, to both make Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a hub for developing young driver talent, but also the location for London's biggest electric go-kart track.

As announced in a press release, we're told that the track will be built under the stadium's South Stand and will ideally be a venue for future national karting championship races. To add to this, Spurs Stadium will also feature a bunch of motorsport facilities, such as simulation units, all in that effort of encouraging and helping young people get into the motorsport scene.

"As we continue to grow our sport, partnering with world renowned brands like Tottenham Hotspur allows us to take Formula 1 and motorsport to new and more diverse audiences," said Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of Formula 1. "The karting experience will be a destination and place that families, friends, and aspiring drivers from all over the world will want to visit and enjoy, engaging new audiences and offering an accessible entry point to the world of motorsport."

The partnership between the two sporting giants will also see F1 and Spurs committing and looking to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable initiatives, which will align with F1's plan to become carbon neutral by 2030, and Spurs' own targets.
