A report on Polygon details that Ghost Games UK - a studio made up mainly by former Criterion Games personnel has been hit by layoffs. According to the report contract workers were let go last week with full-time employees told they could take compensation and leave or continue to work in the studio on Visceral Games' unannounced "police-themed" Battlefield codenamed Havana (due out later this year).
This happens in the wake of the next Need for Speed apparently being canned. Perhaps EA are switching to a semi-annual model for the game? It's not clear by the report how this affects the Swedish Ghost Games that led development on Need for Speed: Rivals.
