Wired Productions and Caged Element have released a substantial free update for Grip: Combat Racing today, bringing anti-gravity racers and those on wheels together, with the former vehicles (AirBlades) being reminiscent of something like Wipeout.

These AirBlades operate in the exact same way as the other vehicles, like being able to flip on any side, and we'll also get new levels set in space, again free for all players.

"I'm pretty sure if Wipeout and Rollcage hooked up, this is the baby they'd pop out," said Leo Zullo, Managing Director of Wired Productions. "It's beyond exciting to finally be able to reveal AirBlades, as we see it as a true game changer and industry first. Grip is a fantastic game, and thanks to the mighty talented team at Caged Elements for their visionary idea and commitment, gamers are now able to experience an even more truly amazing and unique experience that helps to redefine the racing genre."

You can get into the AirBlades right now on all platforms (PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One), and the new features are shown off in the trailer below.

REVIEW. Written by Graham Bellars

"In a year that has given us a huge variety of racing games, this nostalgic look back at late '90s classic Rollcage certainly scratches an itch."
