Guild Esports has joined with Subway to create a unique looking award to be presented to the winner of the esports organisation's Guild FIFA 22 Cup, following the event's finals in December.
The trophy is a golden Subway Footlong that has been designed by the jewellery-maker Johnny Hoxton, with the award itself constructed from recycled and salvaged materials.
As for when exactly the award will be handed out, the finals of the event are set to take place on December 4 at the Odeon West End Luxe in London. The winner of the tournament will not only receive the unique award but also a chunk of an £1,800 prize pool, as well as the opportunity to compete in front of Guild's coaches and FIFA scouts.
"We're delighted to be partnering with Subway® to create this incredible FIFA 22 tournament that offers everyone the chance to show off their skills and take home the grand prize, and what a prize it is!" Michelle Tierney, chief commercial officer at Guild continued, "We hope 'The Golden Sub' trophy inspires people to get involved and enter the tournament - not just to bag an iconic piece of silverware, but to potentially catch the eye of our professional esports coaches. We're always on the lookout for the best new talent..."
