The David Beckham-backed, London-based esports organisation Guild Esports has announced that it is entering yet another competitive scene. The team has signed a Tekken 8 player to a 12-month long contract that will hopefully see Awais Liaqat representing Guild at the upcoming Esports World Cup and beyond.

Guild will be supporting Awais as he looks to secure a spot at the major Saudi-based event this summer, and speaking about the decision to enter competitive Tekken, Guild's CEO Jasmine Skee stated:

"We have been waiting for the right time to enter Tekken, and with the upcoming Esports World Cup and the launch of Tekken 8, now is the perfect opportunity. It is testament to our esports prestige that we have been able to attract a player of Awais' calibre to Guild, and we look forward to seeing him compete in a Guild jersey."

This also comes as Guild recently signed a Rennsport roster, to compete in the ESL R1 scene and at the Esports World Cup too.
