Developer 343 Industries has announced that the upcoming Halo Championship Series Charlotte Online Qualifiers will be taking place later than expected. As revealed by Halo esports lead "Tashi" on Twitter, the reason behind the delay is down to two reasons, seemingly.
By the way that Tashi frames the announcement, 343 Industries is both looking to use the extra time to "ensure a great experience" but also so that it can get everything "out of the way" ahead of a balance patch arriving on February 15.
"We have a balance update planned to release on the 15th so we want to get qualification out of the way and not be disrupted by the update, and we want to ensure enough time for travel booking. Last, we are increasing the stipend amount per qualified team to account for new dates."
Talking about this will affect teams who are expected to be in attendance for the physical portion of the tournament, Tashi also stated: "We never want to make changes after we announce and I apologize for the frustration and hassle this might cause. Full events roadmap still on the way also."
