The Hangzhou Spark has cut Jeong-ho "MCD" Lee after the flex support player made xenophobic comments against a Chinese Overwatch League player. Despite only joining the team in the last off-season, MCD will no longer be competing under the Spark's banner, and the organisation has given a statement to clarify this.

"Today the Hangzhou Spark was made aware of an incident involving MCD's in-game behavior. MCD's actions and comments has broken the stipulation of the player contract, it also [goes] against the Hangzhou Spark's team value. His action was not consistent with the expectation of the Hangzhou Spark players and staff."

The statement continued, "As stated, Jeong-ho "MCD" Lee's player contract will be terminated from today. He will no longer serve the role of Hangzhou Spark's flex-support player."

The Spark will next play the Philadelphia Fusion on September 5 at the Play-In tournament, as it looks to secure itself a spot in the 2021 Overwatch Playoffs.
