The ESL has announced the 11 teams who have been selected for direct invitation for the Intel Extreme Masters Sydney 2023 event, which is set to be held in October. The mega event, which will be the first time that competitive Counter-Strike has looked to host an international tournament on Australian soil in years, will definitely see these 11 organisations in attendance.
The first six teams on the list are all ESL partner teams, with the next four earning the invitation through ESL World Ranking. Grayhound Gaming is the only team that has earned a slot at the event so far for being a "local hero".
There are a further five slots available to be filled, with these set to see two more European teams, one North American, one Asian, and one last Oceanic team participating. These additional teams will be selected through a series of upcoming qualifier events.
