The first section of the Overwatch League has officially come to a close now that the Kickoff Clash for the 2022 season is in the books. With this being the case, we have two victors to talk about as the tournament ran separately between the East and West divisions of the league.
To start with, it was the East division that came to a close first, with this finals match ultimately being between the Philadelphia Fusion and the Seoul Dynasty (who secured a spot here after defeating the Shanghai Dragons in the loser's finals moments before). Despite coming right off a gruelling 3-2 win that pushed them right to the edge, the Dynasty stormed into the finals and blew the Fusion away 4-0 with a dominant performance, and secured the title along the way.
As for the West division, this grand final was between the Los Angeles Gladiators and the Dallas Fuel (who claimed the other finals spot by taking down the Atlanta Reign just before). This wasn't the same tale however, as the Gladiators proved that momentum isn't everything and dismantled the Fuel in quick and dominant 4-0 victory to take the tournament for themselves.
Now that this tournament is in the books, all eyes are on the next stage of the season, which is the Midseason Madness that starts its qualifiers on Thursday, June 16.
